Saudi Arabia intercepts eight drones near Riyadh and Al Kharj, defence ministry says

Riyadh, March 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s military intercepted and destroyed eight drones near the capital Riyadh and the central city of Al Kharj early on Tuesday, the defence ministry said.
The information was attributed to ministry spokesman Turki Al-Maliki. No damage or casualties were reported.
Al Kharj lies about 85 kilometres southeast of Riyadh. The Prince Sultan Air Base is located nearby and is known to have previously hosted U.S. military aircraft.
