Saudi Arabia Hosts High-Level AI Event at UNGA 80 Through SDAIA

New York, Sept 21, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is hosting a high-level international event on artificial intelligence (AI) during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80) in New York.
The event brings together international officials and participants, reflecting growing global interest in AI amid rapid technological transformation. The Saudi delegation is headed by SDAIA Vice President Eng. Sami bin Abdullah Moquim and includes leaders and experts in strategic, technical, and development fields.
The initiative underscores the Kingdom’s expanding role in shaping the future of data and AI, while highlighting its efforts to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. It also reinforces Saudi Arabia’s standing as an active organizer of global events supported by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of SDAIA’s Board of Directors.
The event, organized in partnership with the Republic of Kenya and the United Nations, aims to build momentum for harnessing AI in support of sustainable development and multilateral cooperation. SDAIA’s participation includes sessions on applying AI for public good in areas such as security, efficiency, and accessibility; localizing the Global Digital Charter; advancing private sector innovation; and leveraging AI in humanitarian action.
Saudi Arabia’s presence through SDAIA reflects its commitment to contributing to international policy development, ethical standards, and regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to use technological leadership for sustainable and inclusive growth.
