Saudi Arabia condemns alleged Iranian attempt to target Turkey and Azerbaijan

Riyadh, March 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it described as an Iranian attempt to target the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to a statement carried by state media on Thursday.
The ministry said the attempts against the two countries and what it described as Iran’s repeated behaviour towards states in the region reflect an approach that cannot be justified under any circumstances and runs counter to international laws and norms and principles of good neighbourliness, and pushes the region towards further escalation.
Saudi Arabia expressed solidarity with Turkey and Azerbaijan and said the two countries have the right to protect their security, airspace, territorial integrity and citizens.
The statement also praised efforts by Turkey and Azerbaijan to avoid escalation and to maintain regional security and stability.
