Saudi Arabia announces Eid Al-Fitr to begin Friday

RIYADH, March 18, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia announced that Eid Al-Fitr will begin on Friday, after the crescent moon of Shawwal was not sighted, the Royal Court said on Wednesday.
The Supreme Court confirmed that Thursday will complete the 30 days of Ramadan, with Eid celebrations starting on Friday.
The announcement followed a session held by the Supreme Court to review reports on the sighting of the Shawwal crescent.
