Riyadh Municipality Launches Urban Development Projects Across Four Districts

Riyadh, September 18, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Riyadh Municipality has announced the enhancement of central areas across four districts, covering 14.2 kilometers and a total area of 376,000 square meters, as part of projects to improve livability and upgrade urban infrastructure in the capital.


The initiative spans Al-Rawdah (4.4 km, 121,000 square meters), Al-Rawabi (2.8 km, 52,000 square meters), Al-Suwaidi Al-Gharbi (3.5 km, 127,000 square meters), and Al-Mughrizat (3.5 km, 76,000 square meters).


The project includes the construction of 14 km of pedestrian pathways, more than 9 km of bicycle lanes, the planting of 480,000 trees and shrubs, the creation of multiple urban plazas, and the provision of 4,000 parking spaces.


According to the municipality, the developments are designed to enhance recreational, social, and economic activities while improving sustainability and ensuring efficient use of space. The initiative also seeks to connect these upgraded areas to major destinations and essential services.


The program reflects Riyadh Municipality’s broader efforts to modernize public facilities, improve their functionality and aesthetics, and provide integrated settings that support contemporary lifestyles for residents and visitors.
