Riyadh, February 9, 2026 (SABN) – The Royal Commission for AlUla has signed a memorandum of understanding with ASICS to strengthen cooperation on sports development, talent pathways and performance services.

The agreement, signed at the Cultural Oasis in AlUla, establishes a framework under which the commission will explore opportunities to draw on ASICS’ technical and operational expertise, including assessment and analytical support, to enhance sporting experiences in the governorate.

The cooperation includes initiatives aimed at improving training environments, supporting athlete development and advancing talent programmes. Both sides will also examine prospects for hosting events and attracting regional and international competitions.

The memorandum covers collaboration on community participation through grassroots initiatives and programmes that promote wellbeing, as well as potential digital solutions to improve event operations, including registration, data management and participant tracking for races and other fixtures in AlUla.

The step forms part of broader efforts to expand sports participation and develop the local ecosystem in line with national objectives for the sector.
