Pakistan’s top commanders voiced support for government efforts to ease the Middle East conflict and said recent attacks on Saudi Arabia risk undermining a fragile diplomatic opening.

Pakistan’s military has backed government efforts to help end the Middle East conflict, while warning that recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial facilities could damage ongoing diplomatic initiatives.
Pakistan’s military on Tuesday threw its support behind government-led efforts to de-escalate the Middle East conflict, stressing the need for restraint and dialogue while warning that attacks on Saudi Arabia could jeopardize the environment needed for negotiations
The remarks came during a meeting of Pakistan’s top military commanders chaired by Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, according to a statement issued after the session. The military said the commanders reviewed the regional situation and reaffirmed support for diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict through peaceful means.
In its statement, the military strongly condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial facilities, describing them as an “unnecessary escalation.” It warned that such attacks could spoil what it called “sincere efforts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means.”
Pakistan’s military also said Saudi Arabia’s restraint, “despite grave provocations,” had helped preserve space for mediation and diplomacy. But it cautioned that continued attacks could damage the “conducive environment” needed to keep negotiations alive.
The statement came as Pakistan continues to position itself as a key intermediary in efforts to facilitate talks between the United States and Iran. Reuters reported that Pakistani officials remain engaged in mediation efforts, even as rising regional tensions threaten to collapse the process.
The warning followed fresh attacks on Saudi industrial infrastructure. Reuters reported that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they had attacked Saudi Arabia’s Jubail petrochemical complex, a major industrial hub in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province, in a move that sharply raised fears of wider regional escalation.
