Oman foreign minister urges diplomatic pressure to stop Iran war

RIYADH, March 8, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi met with ambassadors from several countries on Saturday, calling for increased diplomatic efforts to stop the war involving Iran.
The meeting included ambassadors from several non-European Union countries, as well as representatives from the United States, Brazil and Türkiye, Oman’s Foreign Ministry said.
A second meeting followed with ambassadors from Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and Gulf Cooperation Council states, which include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
Al-Busaidi told the diplomats that the highest priority should be given to intensifying political and diplomatic pressure to stop the war and contain its consequences for regional security and stability, according to the ministry.
