NAUSS Opens Emergency Management and Civil Protection Seminar in Helsinki

HELSINKI, August 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) opened a three-day seminar in Helsinki on Wednesday focused on emergency management, civil protection, and preparedness for security and environmental risks.
Organized in cooperation with Verona Shelters, the seminar brings together experts from Arab countries and representatives of relevant international institutions. NAUSS Vice Dean for External Relations Khalid bin Abdulaziz Alharfash said the event provides a platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise and reviewing the latest practices and technologies in prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
Alharfash said NAUSS has carried out more than 41 training courses and scientific workshops, 26 forums, conferences and seminars, and 16 scientific lectures, while 148 research papers and articles have been published in its academic journals. He also stressed the importance of strengthening national capabilities and coordination among relevant institutions to reduce risks and protect people, the environment and critical infrastructure.
The seminar is examining chemical, radiological, nuclear and biological risks, including their security, health and environmental dimensions. It also covers crisis management, current and potential threats, and technologies and innovations aimed at strengthening civil protection and emergency response capabilities.
