DUBAI, November 12, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Museums Commission is taking part in the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), being held in Dubai from November 11 to 17, under the theme “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities.”
According to a statement issued today, the commission inaugurated its pavilion on the first day of the event, presenting the Kingdom’s growing museum ecosystem and its alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives. The exhibit highlights key national initiatives designed to transform museums into vibrant community spaces that promote cultural exchange and strengthen values of identity and heritage.
Through a combination of interactive displays and digital presentations, the pavilion showcases the modernization of the museum sector in Saudi Arabia — from advanced exhibition technologies and digital archiving to programs that empower Saudi talent in curation, conservation, and design.
Commission representatives will participate in several panel discussions throughout the conference, focusing on Saudi Arabia’s museum evolution over the past decade and the role of cultural institutions in reflecting social transformation. They will also address how museums contribute to building international cultural dialogue and strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the global museum and heritage map.
The commission emphasized that its participation in ICOM Dubai 2025 reaffirms its commitment to professional collaboration and knowledge exchange with global institutions, particularly in museum management, exhibition development, and digital innovation.
By engaging in one of the world’s most influential museum conferences, Saudi Arabia continues to demonstrate its leadership in building a sustainable and inclusive museum sector, preserving national memory, and integrating its cultural narrative into the global dialogue on the future of museums.
