TOKYO, July 28, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Japan’s southern Kumamoto prefecture on Tuesday, prompting a tsunami warning for waves of up to 1 metre (3.28 feet), Reuters reported.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the magnitude was preliminary and issued emergency earthquake warnings for Kumamoto, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Fukuoka, Saga, Oita and Miyazaki prefectures on the southern island of Kyushu.
Kyushu Electric Power said no irregularities had been reported at its Sendai and Genkai nuclear power stations following the earthquake
