Kuwait detects 20 ballistic missiles, nine drones in 24 hours

Riyadh, March 25, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday that air defence systems detected 20 ballistic missiles and nine hostile drones in the country’s airspace over the past 24 hours, as authorities also dealt with a drone strike on a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport.
The ministry said 13 missiles were intercepted and destroyed, while seven fell outside the threat zone without posing any danger. It added that six hostile drones were destroyed, while another fell outside the threat zone.
Two drones targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, causing a fire that was being handled by specialised teams, with no human injuries reported.
The ministry also said the National Guard’s task force destroyed one drone and five unmanned aerial vehicles within its areas of responsibility as part of coordination among military agencies.
Kuwait’s Interior Ministry said explosive ordnance disposal teams handled 43 reports related to falling debris from interception operations during the past 24 hours, bringing the total since the start of the attacks to 550.
