King Salman chairs Cabinet session in Riyadh; Saudi Arabia reaffirms commitment to regional peace and cooperation

Riyadh, October 14, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held in Riyadh on Tuesday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Cabinet reviewed the content of messages exchanged between King Salman, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and King Mohammed VI of Morocco, as well as details of the phone call the Crown Prince received from King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan.
Ministers expressed the Kingdom’s hope that the recent Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, hosted by Egypt to address the situation in the Gaza Strip, will contribute to strengthening regional security, alleviating humanitarian suffering, ensuring a full Israeli withdrawal, and advancing efforts toward a two-state solution leading to an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Cabinet also stressed the need for an immediate end to the war in Sudan, calling for preservation of the country’s unity and institutions and the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023.
In a statement to SPA, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the Cabinet reviewed progress of joint committees between the Kingdom and several countries, covering efforts to strengthen relations, expand cooperation, and achieve mutual interests.
The Cabinet praised the success of the 25th Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit Research, and noted the launch of the MENA Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network to bolster regional capabilities against corruption and money laundering.
It congratulated Saudi scientist Omar Yaghi, Co-Director of the KACST–UC Berkeley Center of Excellence, on winning the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, affirming continued support for research, development, and innovation.
Decisions approved:
MoU between the Ministry of Energy and UNEP.
Authorizing the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture to sign an MoU with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (RCEES) on the water industry.
Approving a model tourism promotion/marketing MoU for the Saudi Tourism Authority.
Statistics MoUs between GASTAT and Qatar’s National Statistics Center and the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center.
Authorizing the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority to sign an MoU with TÜBİTAK (Turkey).
Authorizing the Public Prosecution to sign an MoU with the Turkish General Prosecution Office.
Authorizing the National eLearning Center to sign an MoU with Korea Education and Research Information Service.
