RIYADH, March 6, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Israeli military said it has struck more than 500 targets across Lebanon, including major cities and population centers, as fighting continues in the region.
The Israel Defense Forces said it has carried out 27 waves of strikes against the Dahieh area in southern Beirut, which it described as a Hezbollah stronghold.
The military said the strikes targeted Hezbollah militants, missile launchers, headquarters and weapons storage facilities.
Operations were reported in Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon and other locations after Israel issued evacuation warnings for much of southern Lebanon, parts of Beirut and villages in the Beqaa Valley.
The Israeli military also said it struck residential buildings in Beirut that it said were being used to house Hezbollah infrastructure and drone storage.
Separately, Israel’s Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said the military had struck more than 2,600 targets in Tehran since the war began, using more than 6,000 munitions.
According to Zamir, the targets included sites linked to the Iranian government, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and ballistic missile systems.
He said the Israeli military is moving into what he described as the “next phase” of the war but did not provide further details.
