Iran World Cup Ticket Allocation Withdrawn, Federation Reports

June 9 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Iran’s ticket allocation for the upcoming World Cup has been withdrawn one week before its opening match, CNN reported, citing a statement from the country’s football federation.
The Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran said it was unable to provide tickets to supporters of the national team under current circumstances.
The federation did not identify the party that withdrew the allocation.
Under FIFA regulations, about 8% of tickets for each World Cup match are reserved for each competing team, allowing national federations to sell them to supporters.
Iran is scheduled to play all three group-stage matches in the United States later this month.
The team will face New Zealand and Belgium in Los Angeles, and Egypt in Seattle.
The federation said many Iranian fans had already made travel and attendance plans based on the official ticketing process.
