Iran Warns Regional Energy Facilities Could Be Targeted

PARIS, June 8 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Iran warned that regional energy installations could be targeted if attacks on its energy infrastructure continue, CNN reported, citing Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

Fars cited an unidentified military source as saying that oil and gas facilities linked to the United States and Israel would be considered targets.

The warning followed an attack on the Karoon Petrochemical Company in the Mahshahr Special Economic Zone in southwestern Iran, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency.

No casualties were reported, while the extent of the damage remained under investigation.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported launching a missile strike on infrastructure in Haifa, Israel, in response to the attack on the Iranian petrochemical facility.

The IRGC described the escalation as a dangerous phase that could extend to energy-related targets across the region.

Footage published by Fars showed what it described as an Iranian missile launch toward Haifa, with writing on the projectile in English, Hebrew and Farsi reading: “You will regret this.”

During the war with Israel and the United States, Iran has repeatedly targeted energy facilities in U.S.-allied Gulf states, disrupting production and exports and increasing pressure on global energy markets.
