LOS ANGELES, June 22 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Iran’s soccer team left a thank you note for World Cup host city Los Angeles after a 0-0 draw with Belgium on Sunday, keeping its hopes alive of advancing to the next round of the tournament.

The handwritten note, posted on Telegram by Iran’s football federation, thanked Los Angeles for its hospitality and said the team had competed with honor.

Iran has played its first two World Cup matches in Los Angeles and is scheduled to face Egypt next in Seattle.

The team has been based in Tijuana, Mexico, during the tournament because of travel restrictions and has been commuting to the United States for matches. The arrangement has drawn complaints from Iran’s coach and players.

In the note, Iran also thanked its supporters and called for peace, respect and friendship among nations.
