Iran Launches Missiles, Drones Toward U.S. Targets, CNN Reports

June 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Iran launched missiles and drones toward U.S. targets in the region, CNN reported, citing a Telegram post from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps early Wednesday local time.

The statement followed a U.S. announcement that it was carrying out retaliatory strikes on Iran after the downing of a U.S. Army helicopter.

Explosions were heard in the Iranian cities of Sirik and Minab and on Qeshm Island, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency later cited the governor of Minab as saying that no attack on the city had been recorded.

The sounds of blasts heard in Minab originated from the coastal strip bordering the Strait of Hormuz and not from Minab County itself, Mehr reported.

The developments came amid heightened military activity in the region following the helicopter incident and subsequent U.S. strikes on Iran.
