PARIS, May 28 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Iran expressed solidarity with Oman on Thursday after what it described as threats by U.S. officials, while also condemning U.S. attacks on areas in Bandar Abbas.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the U.S. strikes and voiced support for Oman in a statement.

The remarks followed comments by U.S. President Donald Trump on the Strait of Hormuz, in which he warned against any country seeking control of the waterway.

“Nobody's going to control [the strait],” Trump said.

“It's international waters and Oman will behave just like everybody else or we'll have to blow them up. They understand that, they'll be fine,” he added.

Oman has longstanding military and economic ties with the United States and has played a mediation role in regional diplomacy.
