Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque Authority Highlights Digital Achievements in Serving Worshippers

Makkah, September 18, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque reported progress in building an integrated digital environment to improve service efficiency and facilitate access for worshippers and visitors.

The authority said that during 1446 AH, its digital portal published 217,000 words of translated content, 2,512 digital pages, and 240 visual and audio materials in seven languages to serve pilgrims.

It launched eight digital services benefiting more than 3.6 million visitors, including a unified transportation service for the two holy mosques and a central reporting system. It also introduced five seasonal digital services that reached over 1.2 million applicants, covering itikaf applications, iftar and seasonal job permits, and access to mosque sermons such as the Arafah sermon. In total, 12,723 seasonal reports were handled.

The authority said it introduced eight institutional systems to support digital transformation, including platforms for volunteering, technical support, project management, innovation, internal communication, unified access, and operational compliance. It developed computer vision and crowd management systems linked to 2,500 cameras and five management systems, in addition to integrating with government entities through applications such as Nusuk and Tawakkalna.

It also deployed nine cybersecurity systems supported by 17 technical and operational standards to ensure the quality and security of digital infrastructure. The measures included 13 detailed procedures for policy implementation, three emergency response plans, and 19 published policies on governance and security.
