RIYADH, March 16, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Gold jewelry remains one of the most popular Eid Al-Fitr gifts in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, where many residents traditionally present gold ornaments to female family members in appreciation of their efforts during the holy month of Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Residents often give gold gifts to mothers, wives, daughters and sisters to acknowledge the work involved in preparing daily iftar and suhoor meals, organizing the home and creating a spiritual atmosphere for the family throughout Ramadan.
Jeweler Abdulmunem Ali Al-Saghah said the tradition of presenting gold jewelry during Eid Al-Fitr is widely practiced across the Kingdom and particularly in the Eastern Province.
He said gold ornaments offer both decorative and financial value, as they can be worn during family occasions and weddings while also serving as a form of savings due to their resale value.
Al-Saghah added that gold jewelry is categorized according to purity, craftsmanship value and design.
He also noted that many families in the Eastern Province have historically worked in the goldsmith trade, passing the profession from generation to generation as part of preserving local heritage and maintaining a source of income.
Saudi Arabia is considered one of the leading countries in the gold industry, and many residents view gold as both an adornment and a long-term financial safeguard, he said.
