Germany to send evacuation flights to Oman and Saudi Arabia for vulnerable citizens

Berlin, March 2, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Germany will send planes to Oman and Saudi Arabia to evacuate vulnerable German citizens who are unable to return because of the conflict in the Middle East, the government said on Monday.
About 30,000 German tourists are currently stranded on cruise ships, in hotels or at closed airports.
Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said the foreign ministry is seeking to charter planes at public expense to evacuate vulnerable people, including ill travellers, children and pregnant people.
For other stranded tourists, he said officials are working with airlines and travel operators to arrange safe returns to Germany.
