General Directorate of Passports to Begin Two-Month Status Regularization for Yemeni Nationals in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, October 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - The General Directorate of Passports will begin a two-month process on Sunday, October 11, to regularize the status of Yemeni nationals present in Saudi Arabia illegally, SPA reported. The process will cover all regions and provide separate procedures for four categories.
The move follows directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, announced by the Ministry of Interior in response to a request from Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi.
The first category, described as individuals without Yemeni documents or passports, will receive a free six-month visit visa. Applicants must book an appointment through Absher, select a regularization center and attend at the scheduled time and place with proof of Yemeni nationality, such as a passport or a travel document issued by their country’s embassy.
Holders of expired visitor IDs or visas of any type whose biometric data is already registered in Saudi Arabia’s systems will receive an electronic six-month extension without visiting a passport office. A valid passport is required.
Yemeni nationals with expired residency permits, or iqamas, and valid travel documents may transfer to employers needing their services through the digital platforms of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development: Absher, Qiwa for professional workers and Musaned for domestic workers. No visit to government offices is required. Those wishing to leave may obtain a final exit visa without restrictions on re-entering Saudi Arabia.
Individuals reported as absent from work who hold valid travel documents may regularize their status by having the absence report canceled and transferring to another employer through Qiwa for professional workers or Musaned for domestic workers.
The General Directorate of Passports said 23 status-correction centers for violators of border security regulations would operate across Saudi Arabia.
There will be four centers in Riyadh; three each in Aseer and Eastern Region; two each in Makkah, Jazan and Al-Jouf; and one each in Najran, Madinah, Al-Baha, Northern Borders, Tabuk, Qassim and Hail.
