GACA, Vertical Aerospace Sign Agreement to Advance Saudi Air Mobility Sector

FARNBOROUGH, July 21, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation signed a memorandum of understanding with Vertical Aerospace to support the regulatory and operational foundations of the Kingdom’s advanced air mobility sector.
The agreement was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in the United Kingdom, in the presence of GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej.
Under the memorandum, the two sides will exchange technical expertise and international best practices related to aircraft certification and regulatory approvals.
The agreement supports the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Air Mobility Roadmap and GACA’s efforts to establish a flexible regulatory framework for emerging aviation technologies and environmentally friendly aircraft.
The initiative is also intended to develop the Kingdom’s air transport ecosystem and strengthen its position as a global logistics hub under the Saudi Aviation Program and Saudi Vision 2030.
Separately, Cluster2 Airports Company signed a memorandum of understanding with Vertical Aerospace during the airshow to support infrastructure solutions for electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, known as eVTOLs.
