GACA report shows Riyadh, Dammam, Tabuk, AlUla and Al-Baha airports lead August punctuality rankings


Riyadh, September 29 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) released its August 2025 report on airport and airline punctuality, measuring flights departing or arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. The data provides travelers with insight into timetable adherence and supports efforts to enhance the overall passenger experience.


King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Tabuk, AlUla International Airport, and King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al-Baha ranked highest in their respective categories.


Airports were classified into five groups by annual passenger volume. In the over 15 million passengers category, Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport recorded 82% punctuality. King Fahd International Airport in Dammam led the 5–15 million category with 83%, while Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Tabuk topped the 2–5 million category at 85%. AlUla International Airport posted 95% in the under 2 million category, while King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al-Baha ranked first among domestic airports with 98%.


At the airline level, Saudia Airlines registered 82% punctuality for arrivals and 81% for departures. Flynas achieved 77% for arrivals and 82% for departures, while Flyadeal recorded the highest performance with 83% for arrivals and 87% for departures.


The report also highlighted punctuality on specific routes, with the domestic Tabuk–Riyadh flight and the international Riyadh–Amman route both recording 92%.


According to GACA, the results support the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy, which aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading regional hub by improving operational standards, efficiency, and service quality.
