PARIS/GENEVA, April 30— The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has expanded its Safe Mobility 4 All and 4 Life programme into the Middle East and Africa, widening a road safety initiative aimed at helping local authorities and organisations develop practical safety projects.
The programme provides training, mentorship and evidence-based support to help design and implement actions intended to improve road safety.
Its rollout in the Middle East and Africa follows earlier implementation in the Americas and Asia-Pacific, extending the FIA’s global mobility safety effort.
The initiative was developed by the FIA in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and with the support of the FIA Foundation.
The expansion comes as the World Health Organisation continues to identify Africa as the region with the highest road traffic fatality rate globally, while countries across the MENA region face ongoing road safety challenges.
