Fall Season Begins in Saudi Arabia Marked by Astronomical Conjunction

Riyadh, September 13, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The fall season has begun in the Kingdom, bringing moderate temperatures and a transition from the summer heat, marked by an astronomical event locally known as qiran 19, when the moon aligns with the Pleiades star cluster.

The phenomenon has traditionally served as a seasonal marker for Bedouins, signaling the start of the rainy period and the growth of plants essential for pastures.

Adnan Khalifa, a member of a local space and astronomy club, described the season as a “rest period” for nature, allowing the land to rejuvenate and improve pasture quality for livestock.

In addition to its environmental role, the onset of fall influences daily life across the Kingdom. The cooler weather encourages outdoor recreation, reduces electricity consumption, and supports social gatherings and trips, reinforcing traditional customs and community ties.
