Abu Dhabi, September 19, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Etihad Airways announced it will add Damascus, Syria, to its network starting June 2026, marking a new regional destination for the carrier.
The airline said the route reflects increasing demand from travelers in the UAE and GCC for direct access to Damascus, while providing passengers in Syria with connections to Abu Dhabi and Etihad’s wider global network through Zayed International Airport.
Etihad said it will operate four weekly flights on the route using Airbus A320 aircraft, with eight Business Class seats and 150 Economy seats.
Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves said the route demonstrates Etihad’s commitment to expanding its network and connecting travelers to culturally significant destinations, while offering Syrian passengers greater international connectivity.
