ABU DHABI, November 25, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Etihad Airways announced that it will operate its A380 aircraft on the Abu Dhabi–Tokyo Narita route starting 16 June 2026, aligning with peak summer travel demand.
The double-decker aircraft, featuring Etihad’s three-room onboard suite known as The Residence, will connect Zayed International Airport (AUH) with Narita International Airport (NRT) as part of the airline’s network expansion.
Etihad Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer Arik De said the airline has seen sustained demand for additional capacity to Japan. He noted that the A380 is well-suited for the route due to the significance of business travel between the UAE and Japan, countries with strong economic and cultural ties.
The added capacity is expected to boost inbound travel to Abu Dhabi, supporting both direct visits and stopover tourism.
Tokyo will join Etihad’s current A380 destinations, which include London, Paris, Toronto and Singapore. Flights are now open for booking.
