MILAN, May 21 — Elie Saab has signed a three-year licensing agreement with Italy-based Ophy Eyewear for the design, production and distribution of its eyewear collections.
The agreement, which can be renewed, covers optical frames and sunglasses and marks the fashion house’s latest move to expand its accessories business.
The first collection under the partnership will debut on the runway during the Elie Saab spring 2027 show in October.
The fashion house said 70% of the eyewear range will focus on women’s models, while the remainder will be more unisex.
Elie Saab CEO Elie Saab Jr. said Ophy Eyewear’s technical expertise and market knowledge would support the brand’s expansion in the global luxury eyewear segment.
Ophy Eyewear was launched in Sicily in 2018 by Placido Minissale and develops, produces and distributes its own collections as well as licensed eyewear lines.
