RIYADH, March 31, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Diriyah Season 25/26 ended in late March after running for five months across the historic destination, closing a program that combined cultural, heritage and tourism events aimed at drawing visitors from Saudi Arabia and abroad.

The season began in November 2025 and unfolded across several parts of Diriyah, with events built around heritage, arts, entertainment and public cultural programming.

One of the main gatherings during the season was the Diriyah Storytelling Festival in Al-Bujairi District, where writers and intellectual figures from different countries took part in discussions and creative exchange.

This year’s Souq Al-Mawsim focused on Japan and the culture of Kyoto as part of events marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan, with the market incorporating design references from both cultures.

In Wadi Safar, the Saad Al-Wadi program staged musical evenings centered on Saudi artistic traditions in an outdoor setting, while the Hal Al-Qusoor program in the UNESCO-listed At-Turaif District opened access to a number of historic palaces linked to the First Saudi State.

The season also drew attention to traditional Najdi architecture and the use of natural building materials, extending the focus beyond events to the built heritage of the site.

The latest edition underscored Diriyah’s expanding role in Saudi Arabia’s tourism and cultural development plans, as authorities continue to position the historic area as an international destination grounded in national heritage.
