Coalition Says Operation Targeted Facilities Supporting Houthi Missile and Drone Arsenal

RIYADH, October 13 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen conducted an operation to neutralize capabilities used by the Houthi militia to threaten Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the southern Red Sea and waterways, spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Malki said.

Al-Malki said the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command had established that the Houthis were using civilian facilities and vital resources to support their war effort. He identified Al-Sabaha Central Station in Sanaa, underground reserve fuel storage facilities, fuel tanks and berths for transporting and unloading fuel, with sites located in Al-Hodeidah, Sanaa and Dhamar.

The facilities were being used to support the Houthis’ missile and drone arsenal, threatening Saudi Arabia, airports, ports and commercial vessels in the Red Sea, Al-Malki said. He said this use deprived Yemenis of resources that should have been allocated to meeting their needs.

Al-Malki said the facilities had contributed to attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as preparations for imminent attacks on civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia and commercial vessels in international waterways.

The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen reaffirmed its commitment to international humanitarian law and said it had taken all feasible precautions during the planning and execution of the operation to avoid incidental civilian casualties and damage to civilian property.

Al-Malki called on the Houthis to immediately stop attacks targeting civilians and civilian facilities, including airports, ports, oil facilities and infrastructure.
