Bahrain Says Air Defences Intercepted Iranian Missiles

MANAMA, June 6 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Bahrain announced on Saturday that its air defences intercepted Iranian missiles and strongly condemned Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and Kuwait.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a violation of the sovereignty of both countries and a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The ministry said the attacks violated U.N. Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemned Iranian attacks against Gulf states and attempts to disrupt navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Bahrain called on Iran to immediately stop its attacks, commit to peaceful solutions, cooperate in removing maritime mines and ensure safe navigation for civilian vessels in regional waters.
The ministry said Bahrain remained committed to regional peace and stability, while stressing that defending its sovereignty, security and national interests remains a priority.
Bahrain said it would take all legitimate measures needed to protect its security and citizens.
Earlier Saturday, Kuwait’s armed forces announced that air defences had intercepted hostile missile and drone attacks.
