Bahrain refers 14 defendants to court over alleged IRGC-linked plots

MANAMA, March 26, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Bahrain’s Attorney General has ordered 14 defendants in four separate cases to be referred to the Criminal Court over alleged links to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Bahrain News Agency reported on Thursday.

The group includes several fugitives currently in Iran and a female defendant in the fourth case, according to BNA.

Prosecutors accuse the defendants of seeking and communicating with the Revolutionary Guard to carry out military and hostile acts against Bahrain, providing support for those activities, and receiving and delivering funds linked to the operations.

The charges also include broadcasting information classified as state defence secrets, spreading false news and rumours to incite panic among citizens and residents, and promoting and glorifying hostile acts against the kingdom.

Authorities allege the defendants monitored and photographed vital installations and sensitive sites, then sent photos and information later used to target buildings and facilities in Bahrain.

The Public Prosecution said some defendants gave detailed confessions during questioning and that the evidence included witness testimony and examinations of technical devices used in the incidents.

The defendants were ordered held in custody pending trial before the High Criminal Court.
