Bahrain Condemns Houthi Missile Launches Toward Makkah and Madinah, Urges UN Action

RIYADH, October 26 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Bahrain condemned the launch of two Houthi ballistic missiles toward Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and Madinah regions and renewed its call for firm UN Security Council measures to halt repeated attacks.
The missiles were intercepted by Saudi air defenses. Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised their effectiveness and said continued missile and drone attacks threatened civilians, vital infrastructure and the safety of visitors to Islam’s holiest sites.
The ministry described the attacks as violations of Saudi sovereignty, international law and international humanitarian law. It said they represented a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability, violated the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and provoked Muslims worldwide.
Bahrain reaffirmed its support for Saudi measures to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security and stability, safeguard citizens and residents, and ensure the safety of the holy sites and their visitors.
The ministry also affirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, saying the Kingdom’s security was inseparable from that of Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council states.
It urged the Security Council to take deterrent measures, hold the perpetrators and their supporters accountable, and implement relevant resolutions, particularly resolutions 2216 and 2817.
