Bahrain Condemns Drone Attack on Saudi East-West Oil Pipeline

MANAMA, September 12 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Bahrain strongly condemned a drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline in Riyadh and Madinah regions that caused injuries and material damage, its Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The ministry said the drones were launched from Iraq and stressed that no country’s territory should be used to launch attacks against its neighbours. It expressed support for Iraqi efforts to prevent further attacks.

Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, saying the Kingdom’s security and stability were integral to its own. It supported Saudi Arabia’s right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, facilities, citizens and residents in accordance with international law, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

The ministry described the attack as a violation of international law, the UN Charter and the principles of good neighbourliness. It said the targeting of vital civilian facilities affected the security of energy supplies.

Bahrain called on the international community to fulfil its responsibilities in confronting attacks that it said sought to undermine energy security and destabilise the region.
