AlUla, March 4, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Palm oases are among the most prominent agricultural features of AlUla, where date palms have long been central to residents’ livelihoods, providing food and income and shaping oases set amid mountains and rock formations.
Data from the Royal Commission for AlUla’s agricultural center puts the number of palm trees in the governorate’s oases at about 4.144 million, spread across 16,485 hectares.
Annual production is estimated at about 168.31 tons of dates. The Barni date is among the notable varieties produced in the governorate, alongside several other types.
