AL-BAHA, Oct 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia’s Al-Baha Region is expanding coffee cultivation, with more than 450 farms and over 115,000 trees producing various types of Saudi coffee, the Saudi Press Agency reported on International Coffee Day.

Coffee farms are spread across several governorates and mountainous areas of Al-Baha, reflecting the region’s growing role in domestic coffee production.

Fahd Al-Zahrani, director general of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Al-Baha, said five specialized agricultural hubs have been established to support coffee cultivation.

More than 600,000 coffee seedlings have been planted across the region’s governorates, expanding the scale of cultivation and supporting efforts to capitalize on Al-Baha’s advantages in coffee production.

Investment is also moving into processing, with construction underway on a coffee processing plant valued at more than SAR16 million.

The facility is intended to support further development and growth of Al-Baha’s coffee sector.
