November 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Asian Football Confederation has rescheduled the next Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia to December 23, 2027–January 21, 2028, following consultations with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the tournament’s Local Organising Committee.

The competition was originally scheduled for January 7–February 5, 2027.

The AFC said the decision followed extensive discussions about recent developments and their logistical implications. The parties agreed that the revised dates would provide the best conditions for staging the tournament.

Local Organising Committee Chairman Yasser AlMisehal told the Saudi Press Agency that Saudi Arabia had completed preparations to welcome teams and supporters in January and would maintain that work toward the new opening date.

“Saudi Arabia is fully ready to host the Asian Cup,” he said.

AlMisehal said organizers were working closely with the AFC and other partners to ensure the tournament runs smoothly and meets the standards expected of the event.

The AFC praised the Saudi federation and the organizing committee’s readiness. It said coordination would continue with participating member associations and other partners to manage the transition to the revised schedule.
