MAKKAH, December 25 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – More than 11.9 million Umrah rituals were performed during the month of Jumada Al Akhira by pilgrims from inside and outside Saudi Arabia, according to official statistics released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in partnership with the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.
The data showed that more than 1.7 million Umrah performers arrived from outside the Kingdom during the same period.
Officials said the increase reflects the impact of digital platforms and integrated logistical services that have streamlined arrival procedures and facilitated the performance of rituals with greater ease and efficiency.
The ministry said the continued rise in Umrah activity aligns with efforts to develop the Hajj, Umrah and visitation ecosystem, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Authorities said the focus remains on improving access to the Two Holy Mosques while ensuring the comfort and safety of Umrah performers throughout their journey, from planning their visit to departure.
