Ukraine Sending Military Teams to Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar to Share Drone Defense Expertise

Riyadh, March 10, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Tuesday that Ukraine will send three fully equipped teams this week to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

A communications adviser to the Ukrainian president said an additional expert team was also being deployed to a U.S. military base in Jordan, while an official in the presidential office confirmed the teams consist of military personnel.

Zelenskyy did not provide details about the composition of the teams or their specific mission.

The move comes after the Ukrainian leader said last week that the United States and several Middle East partners were seeking Ukraine’s expertise in countering Iranian Shahed drones.

Russia has launched tens of thousands of Shahed drones against Ukraine since the start of its invasion more than four years ago.
