UAE President, Zelenskyy discuss regional security escalation in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, March 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed regional security developments on Saturday amid ongoing military escalation and its implications for regional and international peace and security, as well as international navigation and the global economy.
The talks took place during a meeting in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received Zelenskyy during his working visit to the United Arab Emirates.
The two leaders also discussed continued Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure. Zelenskyy reiterated his condemnation of the attacks, saying they violated sovereignty, international law and the U.N. Charter and undermined regional and international peace and security.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said the UAE was addressing the situation with wisdom and restraint while remaining committed to preventing further tensions and crises in the region. He also said the UAE would continue to defend its sovereignty and remained fully prepared to confront threats targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The meeting also covered efforts to advance bilateral cooperation under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Ukraine.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s support for efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving a lasting peace in Ukraine.
