UAE president, Russia’s Putin discuss regional escalation after Iranian attacks, WAM reports

Abu Dhabi, March 2, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call on Monday from Vladimir Putin, during which the two leaders discussed Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and several Arab countries, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The call also covered security and military developments in the region and their impact on regional and international peace and stability, the report said.
The two leaders called for an immediate halt to the military escalation to avoid widening the conflict and stressed the importance of prioritising dialogue and diplomacy, according to the report.
