UAE President, Greece’s Mitsotakis discuss regional escalation, call for de-escalation

Riyadh, February 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call today from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to discuss the escalation in the region and its implications for regional and international security and stability.
Mitsotakis condemned Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked Mitsotakis for Greece’s supportive stance.
The two leaders stressed the need for immediate de-escalation and a return to dialogue to pursue diplomatic solutions aimed at preserving security and stability in the region.
