UAE Declines Comment on Speculation Over Conversations Between Government Leaders

ABU DHABI, September 8, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The United Arab Emirates has said it does not comment on media reports or speculation concerning conversations between government leaders.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the statement on Tuesday amid reports alleging that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about a possible major Hamas operation before the October 7, 2023, attack.

The Emirati statement did not identify the media reports or confirm or deny that any such conversation took place.

Netanyahu’s office has denied receiving a warning from the UAE and rejected the account of the alleged conversation.

The UAE Foreign Ministry said the country’s engagement since October 7 had consistently focused on de-escalation, regional stability and preventing violence.

It added that Emirati and Israeli government entities had maintained open and direct communication channels since relations between the two countries began more than five years ago.

Relevant intelligence has been and continues to be shared between the appropriate entities when necessary, the ministry said.

The UAE and Israel formally established diplomatic relations in 2020.
