UAE Condemns Ben-Gvir Visit to Al-Aqsa Courtyard, Warns Against Escalation
ABU DHABI, Sept 30 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The United Arab Emirates condemned Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s entry into the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyard alongside settlers under Israeli police protection, calling the move a provocative escalation and an unacceptable act of extremism, the Emirates News Agency reported.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Israeli government to take full responsibility, condemn the actions and hold those involved accountable, including ministers and officials within the Israeli government.
The ministry said continued attacks and incitement to hatred and violence risk further escalation and threaten social peace.
The UAE also called for respect for the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque and for the protection of all holy sites.
It reaffirmed the custodial role of Jordan in overseeing the endowments and managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
