UAE air defences engage 20 ballistic missiles and 37 UAVs

ABU DHABI, March 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – UAE air defence systems on Saturday engaged 20 ballistic missiles and 37 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran.


Since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have engaged 398 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,872 unmanned aerial vehicles.


The attacks resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces while performing their duty, a Moroccan civilian contracted by the armed forces, and eight civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities.


A total of 178 people were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.


The injured included nationals of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden and Tunisia.
