WASHINGTON, March 22 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday the United States would strike Iranian power plants if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.
“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
The warning came as oil prices rose and pressure increased on the White House to restore traffic through the strategic waterway.
Trump’s latest threat follows remarks a day earlier that the United States is considering “winding down” military efforts in the Middle East.
It also follows comments in which Trump said he had told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop attacks on Iranian oil and gas facilities.
