Riyadh, March 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – U.S. President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that “someone from within” Iran’s regime might be the best choice to take power once the U.S.-Israel military campaign is completed.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said Reza Pahlavi, the exiled crown prince of Iran’s last shah, was not someone his administration had considered in depth as a potential successor.
“He looks like a very nice person, but it would seem to me that somebody that’s there that’s currently popular, if there’s such a person ... we have people like that,” Trump said.
Trump added that “some people like” Pahlavi, but said his administration had not thought about him too much as Iran’s next ruler.
