WASHINGTON, March 20, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday the United States is considering winding down its military efforts in the Middle East, according to a social media post.

Trump said the United States was close to meeting its objectives, including degrading Iran’s missile capabilities and eliminating its air and naval forces.

He said the Strait of Hormuz should be secured by other countries that rely on it, adding that the United States would assist if requested.

Speaking to reporters later on Friday, Trump said he believed the United States had “won” its war with Iran.

U.S. officials said additional Marines and sailors were being deployed to the Middle East as the conflict approaches its fourth week.
